Day 2
Day two was another beautiful day in Vancouver. We hit up the Granville Farmers Market and had a wonderful lunch and dinner. I had taken tons of pictures of Granville Market, but didn't want to bore everyone with my pictures of fruit, breads, cheeses, and olives.
We ate lunch at this UNBELIEVABLE fish hut for lunch called Go Fish. The seafood was so fresh (caught within 24 hours). Bran had the best fish tacos of his life and I had a great halibut sandwich with deep fried capers.
After lunch we rented bikes and took a nice cruise around Stanley Park. We rode all the way around the sea wall. Stanley Park is about 14 percent larder then Central Park. It was the perfect day for being outside!
It was such a nice surprise that my dad was in Vancouver on business the same time we were. The three of us ate at Cru, and it was a delicious meal!!
My dad's lobster bisque
Pan-seared Sockeye Salmon
puy lentils, roasted cauliflower, raisin-caper beurre noisette
Roasted Pork Loin
pearl barley and wilted kale, oloroso sherry shiitake cream

Classic Crème Brûlée
“Grand Cru” Chocolate Torte
with dulche de leche ice cream, nut tuille
Kind of a dark picture, but it is the only one of the three of us!

Here are some pictures by the convention center downtown.
The first day was delicious, but the best was yet to come!

British Columbia Visit
Brandon and I got back from our "foodie" British Columbia trip last night. We spent 8 nights in wonderful Vancouver and Whistler. Brandon had been working on this surprise trip for some time. His work schedule is CRAZY and VERY unpredictable right now with travel to and from Japan. He took the plunge and booked the tickets before anyone at work could tell him otherwise. I have such an AMAZING husband, and I feel so blessed to have spent such a wonderful time with him all to myself. I am going to post pictures as a day-by-day post. This is just a warning now that the posts will be picture heavy (in regards to food). I know I might be a bit nerdy, but I just couldn't resist taking pictures of all the wonderful food!!!

BC here we come!
I am very excited to say that Brandon surprised me with 4 star foodie vacation for 8 nights in Vancouver and Whistler, British Columbia. Our meal itinerary is looking very tasty. I have to say I am probably the most excited about eating at Lumiere. I am a big fan of Daniel Boulud and have always wanted to eat at one of his restaurants! Expect pictures soon.

Happy Labor Day
It was a GREAT long weekend with Aunt Kiki visiting. It was a pretty relaxing weekend, and we were able to do some fun things I have been looking forward to. We went to a small town, New Harmony, that was quaint and full of charm. Bran and I will definitely be going back to stay for the evening and enjoy some tasty food. We shopped, baked, and enjoyed the beautiful weather. THANKS so much for visiting Aunt Kiki!!!
