The "Cooker"

It's my little cooker.  Adi has been talking a lot about wanting to be a cooker - I can't make anything anymore without her wanting to help (which is a good thing - just takes a little longer to get it together).  I told her we were going to make pizzas on Friday.  She has been looking forward to it!  We made everything ourselves.  Except for the cheese - I am thinking about trying to buy some raw milk to try making some mozzarella, yogurt, and buttermilk.  I know a couple of people who have started buying it and LOVE it.  She's been helping so much in the kitchen and has been loving it, so I took pictures of the entire process as more of a little milestone for myself (very picture heavy)!

She loved watching the yeast get foamy

Done!  Time to wait.

Second rise - I missed a pic of the first rise.

Rolling out her and Abe's pizza.

Pesto pizza for mommy and daddy.

I told her she could put whatever she wanted on her and Abe's side of the pizza.  She wanted squash and little cherry tomatoes from the garden (she didn't want me to cut them - she just plopped them on there).

Finished product.

Happily eating her masterpiece.  I tell you what - it takes a lot more time to get dinner together when she helps, but she really does eat so much better when she has some ownership in the meal.  She ate her entire meal - and it was a pretty big piece of pizza.  That is impressive for Adi.  I love it that she likes cooking.  I'm happy I'm able to teach her!

Sommerfest Parade 2012

This is the first year we sat and watched the parade in town.  Adi had a great time catching candy with Joyce.  These two little guys have been so sick, so I wasn't even sure we would get to go yesterday, but I was so happy we made it.  We grilled out before hand and enjoyed the parade with the Wilzbacher's and Ziliak's.  Thanks so much for inviting us guys - we had a great time!

Adi is a loyal Fresh Baked customer!

It doesn't much more American then that with the flag and train in the background.

All he needs is a plastic bag - such a happy little guy (when he's not sick)!

He sure loves his daddy!

Stopping for a rest after delivering candy to Tracy.

DISEASE...

that's right folks - lets just kick it up a notch!  It's not good enough that poor Abe has been sick with one thing or another for the majority of his time here on earth, but my sweet little man got hit with a disease last week - which has spread throughout our home.  :)

I'm pretty sure he caught the hand, foot, and mouth DISEASE at either the splash pad or the doctors office.  Either way, he had a super high fever and gave us quite a little scare.  When the blisters appeared we made the diagnosis on our own.  That's right - the doctors office and urgent care got it wrong.  Adison came down with it yesterday and seems to be doing much better tonight.  I am hoping she escapes the blister part.  She didn't eat much today and complained a lot about her mouth hurting!

So with that, old germ-a-phob Alison is back.  I ordered a massive pack of the Johnson and Johnson disinfecting wipes from Amazon yesterday and I am just waiting on their arrival.  I will be wiping everything down (including the kids) when we are out and about.  NO MORE sickness for the Haight household.

Look at my poor little babies feet!

Abram is 9 months!

9 month stats:
Height - 28 inches (38th percentile)
Weight - 19 lbs 12 oz (34th percentile)

Sleep - FINALLY - Abram is consistently sleeping through the night!!  He goes down for the night at about 6:30 and is up for the day at 5:30.  I would love to get him on a little bit of a later schedule, but he'll get really screwed up in a couple months and won't be back on a consistent schedule until the end of the year any way.  He isn't the greatest napper, but a full night sleep is well worth it.  He naps for about 45 minutes in the morning and I'm lucky if he takes an hour and a half nap in the afternoon.

Eating - Abram is taking 5 six oz bottles a day.  I think he would drink 7 oz on some of those feeds as well.  He isn't eating any more baby food and is doing wonderfully.  He is basically eating everything we eat.  He loves any veggie that is roasted and loves watermelon.

Milestone - Abram went to his first car show this past month, and pretty much slept through the entire thing.  He is waving hello and good bye.  He is babbling a ton, but nothing really purposeful yet.

Abram is such a joy.  It is so easy to tell when he's not feeling well, because aside from being sick or getting teeth he is such a happy baby.  He's really started to develop quite the little personality this past month.  He knows when he is being naughty and stops, looks at you and laughs.  This little guy has the GREATEST belly laughs imaginable.  I am so blessed to get to hear them everyday!  He is such a joyful boy and we just ADORE you Abram!!!

LOVES playing with Adi's tool bench!

Our egg chair from IKEA is a big hit in the house right now (for both of them).

Watching Adi and Abe play in the tunnel cracks me up.  Adi screams when he gets those chubby little legs moving towards her.  He already has learned what pushes her buttons.  (I tried to get a picture of one of the times that he stole Larry from her.  Oh the delight on his face is priceless).

Seriously, totally out eats Adi already!

His top four teeth are coming down now.  If it is in front of his face - it is in his mouth!

Pics for daddy!

We set up the water table outside yesterday afternoon.  Abe was much more interested in crawling over to where Adi was filling up her bucket at.  He was quite a mess when we were finished!

CAN'T wait to see you tomorrow babe! Ready for you to be home!

Fishing!

We had a fun afternoon fishing with Matt and Shannon.  Adi was much more interested in the fishing lures and going swimming.  She caught 4 fish and it was such a pretty place to sit and enjoy the weekend.  Thanks for inviting us guys.

A beautiful day at home!

Today was just beautiful here.  It was a simple day, but very enjoyable.  We took the golf cart to Fresh Baked this morning and had a nice relaxing breakfast.  Joyce held Abe the entire time so I could eat, and we thoroughly enjoyed her company.  I really do just love this little town.  It is refreshing to be somewhere where people care about really knowing their neighbors and are always willing to help.  We spent the rest of the morning playing out back.  The kids napped and I got a little bit of time to myself.  I made a home made spaghetti sauce for dinner that was delicious.  We finished our evening with a golf cart ride to Matt and Shannon's and back home for bed.  Our God is amazing, and I saw small reminders of Him all throughout my day!

Abe enjoying being pushed.

Adi flying.

Adi teaching Larry to fly.

Adi planted flowers a couple weeks ago and her first flower came up yesterday.  She was so excited to pick it today!

When I wave at Abe and tell him hi this is what he does (cutest darn wave)!  I love this sweet little guy!

Everything goes in his mouth right now.
