Abe Crawling

This is HORRIBLE video quality.  I switched a couple settings on my camera and need to go back and switch them again.  I got a quick video of Abe crawling a bit while Adi was asleep.  I have tried to get quite a few videos of him crawling, but Adi jumps in front and says watch me crawl.  Let's just say that Adi is adjusting now that he is mobile - "her" things are no longer "hers."

On being a SAHM

Some of the time I feel like my job really isn't that important of a job. I let this world get me down and fail to remember how truly important my job is - and I mean that. It's easy to down play the not so exciting tasks that fill up my day. But, when I really think about my job I feel so thankful and honored that God (and my husband) has given me the opportunity to be a stay at home mom. Like any job there are moments of frustration and times when my patience has been worn thin! But the good moments are oh so good! Like yesterday, I was vacuuming the living room and Adi and Abe were in the kitchen busy with stickers and his jumperoo when Adi looked at me yelling over the vacuum, "mom, mom, mom." I'll admit I thought to myself, what now! She smiled at me so big and said, "you're doing a great job." The honesty in her voice almost brought me to tears. I know what you're thinking - you're vacuuming for crying out loud. But glamorous or not, it is part of my job and my sweet little two year old sure encouraged me in that moment! I'd be lost without my wonderful SAHM's. It is amazing to have friends that understand where I'm coming from and what my days truly consist of. Being a SAHM sure isn't an easy job, but it is, in my opinion, the best job in the whole wide world!!!

Abram is 7 months

Height - 27 inches
Weight - 16 lbs 8 oz

Sleep - Abram goes to sleep about 7:00 and is up for the day about 6:30. He's not sleeping through the night and that is ok! :) What else can I say about it. I am only feeding him once, but he seems to cry/wake about three times. We'll see what this next month brings - hopefully more sleep :) Oh yeah, naps aren't really consistent either (that's just how it goes when you have an active toddler).

Eating - He is eating baby food just fine now that his ear infection is gone. I am giving him more finger foods though. He has eaten puffs, avocado, and bananas. He is nursing five times a day and once through the night.

Milestone - He had his first ear infection, which two doses of antibiotics to knock it. I'm hoping there aren't any more in his future. He still has no teeth, even though I've been saying he's getting a tooth for three months now. He is sitting up wonderfully and can actually get from his belly to a sitting position with no trouble at all. He is on fours a lot more now and doing a lot of lunging forward, but no crawling yet (this one makes me happy). I have a feeling he's going to be a quick little guy when he really gets going. He's been saying yaya, dada, and baba a lot!

Easter 2012

We had a busy Easter weekend. We did a lot of egg hunting, eating, hanging out as a family, and most importantly - celebrated the fact that JESUS LIVES! The weather was wonderful and it was really nice that Brandon had a four day weekend. We're so thankful for the time together and for the amazing news that Easter brings.

Saturday we went to our church's Easter egg hunt. Adi wasn't all that into it, but there were tons of kids, so I think it may have been a bit overwhelming. We just adore our church family!!!

Easter morning!

Our sweet babies!!

Easter morning

Adi got a lot of gardening items - she is in love with the gloves!

Adi had a great time hunting eggs. She took her time and opened each egg as she found them. Needless to say she hunted eggs for quite some time.

What a wonderful Easter - so happy He is risen!!!

Dying eggs 2012

Adison has been wanting to dye Easter eggs for days now. She was so excited it was time to dye them. She was even more excited to "decorate" them. Oh yes, the box came with stickers. I keep thinking it is a phase and she will soon be sick of the stickers, but this day has not come yet. As she sat there decorating her beloved "I <3 Larry" egg she started freaking out because the egg broke - no big deal with hard boiled eggs, but mommy grabbed the wrong dozen. :)
She was a big eggy mess.

Finished product

Such concentration

Very excited to show me her egg

Abe only lasted the first ten minutes. It was bed time for him.

Dying away!

The great outdoors

We have been outside a lot!! Our summer like weather has been forcing us to play outside in the morning or evenings. We have been in the garden, enjoying meals outside, and really just letting the kids get their energy out so everyone gets a good night sleep (too bad it isn't working on Abe and mommy)!!!
