Garden update May 2012

The garden is doing great so far this season.  It has been pretty warm here, so everything seems to double over night!  Adi and I are enjoying going out and working out there after we get Abe down for bed at 6:30.  The thing that I was most excited about this year was a spinach that vines and loves the hot weather.  Unfortunately, I have had a nasty cat getting into my garden!  He or she has dug up my spinach a couple times now, but it is still alive, but not really vining yet.

Onions - they do well every year.

Sugar snap peas!  Love gobbling these puppies up daily.  They also do so well.  I have the cutest video of Adi pronouncing their name - oh so cute!  Maybe I'll post it below this post for you all to enjoy! :)

My yummy arugula thriving wonderfully.

The green beans are doing well so far.  I have tons of blooms on their now, so as long as the terrible heat doesn't cause them to drop their blooms before the bean start growing we should finally have them after three years of trying.

Look at that sweet little gardener.

My 26 tomato plants - I'm praying I'm able to can this year!

LOVES to water (not so focused on getting the water into the garden though)!

We've been pulling this amount of sugar snap peas off every night.

Ok - here she is!

WATER!

When it is 92 degree out and humid we bring the water table inside!  These two played with this for a LONG time!  I was able to get dishes put away and clean the kitchen while they played and splashed in here.  Abe took a couple little trips to Cooper's food and water bowl.  Yes, he has found them!  The little stinker has something he loves to get into in every room now.  This is the phase where you chase them, chase them, and chase them some more!  :)

Summer is here (ok, not technically, but it feels like it)!  Our great friends had us over this morning to swim.  The kids LOVED it!  So fun being home with these sweet babies every day!!!  Thanks Lindsey!

Good Guys Nashville - Bran turns 30!

We went to Nashville for the Good Guy's show last weekend.  The kids had a great time.  We visited Opry Mills Mall when we got down there.  Adi LOVED eating at The Rainforest Cafe.  The mall has even more now that they have finally opened back up after the flood a couple years ago.  We decided to check into the hotel early so the kids could swim.  Adi did a great job going under the water.  She is doing better and better at getting her head wet.  She is doing swim lessons this summer and I think she'll do great this year.  Abe loved the pool as well!

It was a bit warm on Saturday for the car show, but the kids did great.  It is such a fun car show to go to with so many beautiful cars!  It was the perfect way for Brandon to spend his birthday weekend.  We sure love him and had a great weekend together!

Abe loved being wet!

That girl was asleep within minutes - those of you that know Adi know that this is extremely rare!  She was beat!

Mother's Day 2012

We had a wonderful mother's day weekend.  I just have to say I love being these two sweet little guys mommy!  I can't even really remember my life before them.  I have to stop and really think about what I did with my time before them.  They keep me so very busy, and they are constantly reminding me what an AMAZING God we serve.
The kids "Brandon" got me some wonderful mother's day gifts this year!
- I got a great new bounce flash for my camera and some filters.  (I am really loving learning more   about my camera!)
- A precious little set of hand prints and a home made necklace from Adi.
- To sleep in!
- A two hour nap after church!

Here are some pictures of our two little blessings!!!

Women's luncheon at our church!

Hanging out at the house with this smiley little man.

We're starting to think that Adi will be going to high school with Larry!

Someone is ALMOST 30!

Last weekend Brandon spent a guys weekend away with his two best friends to race down in Atlanta.  I tried to surprise this guys - but that is virtually impossible.  I thought I was going to pull it off and then about a month and a half ago he told me he would be in Japan that weekend. I had to tell him what I had been plotting.  I was a bit bummed  that I had to spill the beans, but it was better than him missing a fun weekend away doing something he's always wanted to do.
They hit a car show in Knoxville the first day, headed down through Gatlinburg, and ended up in Atlanta by Saturday morning.  They got to go to a car show, do a lot of go cart racing, hit up some tool stores, and end the weekend by going to Skip Barbers racing school.  It sounds like they had a fun weekend.
I hope your 30's are the best years of your life yet babe!  I love you so very much!

Abram is 8 months!

8 month stats:
Height - 27 inches
Weight - 18 lbs

Sleep - Abram's sleep is still pretty inconsistent.  He hasn't been napping very well, which has led to very early bed times.  He's been going to sleep at about 6:15.  This is way too early and I am not a fan, but what do you do when they've only napped about an hour?!  I'm hoping to get the courage to let him cry in his crib for a little bit longer.  It's hard hearing my baby screaming in there.  He is only waking once to eat, but now that I am weaning that will have to drop off in this next month.  I know for a fact that he doesn't need the night feeding.  A definite advantage to bottle feeding (I know how much he is getting throughout the day!)

Eating - We recently have weaned.  I started weaning Abe last week and am already finished.  The only time I am nursing him is at 5:00am.  He is going back to sleep after that feeding until about 7:00am.  I am feeding him 6oz five times a day.  He is a happier baby and I am a happy mommy because I know exactly what my hungry little guy is getting.  I am feeding him breakfast and dinner for sure and sometimes some yogurt at lunch.  He gets little snacks of puffs and yogurt melts one other time throughout the day.  I feel really good about our recent transition.

Milestone - This has been a big month for Abe with many first milestones.  He is now in the big boy bath with Adi (and loving it and crawling all over in there), weaning from breast, can pull himself up to standing position, the most sad milestone is that he is starting to cruise.  I can't believe how quickly this little man is moving.

I thank God every day for blessing us with this super sweet little man.

Spring :)

I love this time of year.  Those of you that know me know that I LOVE food!  There is truly nothing better then home grown food!  We grow, and buy local as much as possible.  Spring and Summer bring so many delicious fruits and veggies.

Adi helped me plant our little tomatoes yesterday - Abe hung out in his jumperoo.

We went and got some local strawberries this morning- yummy!
